DEBBIE SEELEY: DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY

Dr. Deborah Seeley (Debbie) holds a doctoral degree in physical therapy from Mount Saint Mary’s University, and a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and theater arts with dance emphasis from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her Los Angeles-based therapy practice specializes in orthopedics; home health care; and performing arts medicine, including injury prevention and management for musicians and dancers. She also provides post-operative rehabilitation; helping individuals get back to their craft following surgery. Debbie is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association; Performing Arts Special Interest Group, and is currently pursuing board-certified clinical specialization in orthopedic physical therapy.

With a background in ballet and modern dance, Debbie marched with The Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps and Raiders World Winterguard. She has judged the colorguard captions at field shows, taught dance and colorguard for numerous schools and organizations throughout California for over two decades. She is currently the Director of Pageantry for the Tournament of Roses Honor Band at Pasadena City College, and a professor at Mount Saint Mary’s University where she teaches anatomy and motor learning for undergraduate and graduate programs respectively.

She is passionate about incorporating quality health and wellness measures into the marching arts. In 2014 she founded The Blue Devils Health and Wellness Program; directing the program until 2021. She continues to consult for The Blue Devils and other marching arts organizations, and is a member of the Drum Corps International Marching Arts Safety and Wellness Program (MASH).

Debbie has been involved with Dark Sky Percussion since 2021 and is currently on the board of directors.

 

VINCENT GONZALES: ASSOCIATE MARRIAGE & FAMILY THERAPIST

Vincent Gonzales is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist from Santa Barbara, California. He has been involved in the performing arts throughout his life, including being a member of the 2016-2018 Dark Sky Front Ensemble, and is the percussion director for multiple schools in his hometown. 

Vincent currently works full-time at an integrated medical clinic that strives to provide holistic, person-centered and community-oriented care. His clinical specialties have include substance use and co-occurring disorders, eco/indigenous-psychology, crisis intervention, and community-based prevention programs.

This is his first year working with Dark Sky’s Wellness Team. 

He is honored to be returning to his DSP family to help facilitate a safe and nurturing environment for all members involved.
