Our 2021 Dark Sky project has been progressing well through December and January with weekly sectionals and individual instruction via Zoom. Our staff committed to sharing their World Class knowledge with our members and working through these challenging months. We are pleased with everyone’s flexibility and musical growth and will soon transition to in-person rehearsals for sectionals and staging. Rehearsals will include Covid-19 Protocols, including mandatory temperature checks, masking, distancing, and equipment sanitizing. Stay tuned for social media posts and our show reveal!

DARK SKY WON'T GO DARK

The news was not what any of us wanted to hear, but not unexpected - the 2021 SCPA and WGI seasons will not happen, at least, not like we’re all used to. Anticipating the possible cancellation of the 2021 season, we’ve been creating alternative plans so that our World Class efforts can continue on behalf of our talented members and supportive fans.

Dark Sky will be conducting auditions which will begin with Zoom instruction to instruct candidates on how to prepare, record and upload an audition video. The final round will be in person with safety precautions in place. Selected members will have their instrument checked out to them.

The season will consist of learning and releasing short section videos as a longer video, professionally produced project is created. The alternative performance will be released in April 2021.

AUDITION PACKETS ARE UP!

The audition packets are all ready for you to download. They are free and we only ask that you fill out the form completely before receiving a packet. You can register and pay in advance or pay on the day of the audition. If you are serious about being in the DSP20 ensemble, we highly recommend you attend the first audition date on Sunday, Sept 22nd. The cost is the same if you cannot attend until the weekend of Sept 28-29 and a video is recommended if this is the first time we’re seeing you.

The audition site is Don Lugo HS in Chino, CA. Lunch will be provided on the 22nd but not on the 28-29. The new ensemble will be set by the end of the day on the 29th.

Setting New Heights!

The journey of learning and perfecting our 2018 show, "Transcendence" has been exhilarating!  The full program was performed at the WGI Western Power Regional this past weekend.  Our ensemble earned their highest regional score since being promoted to the World Class in 2014 and are hungry to max this challenging program out right to the end of the season. 

Our next performance will be the SCPA prelims on April 8 - 3:38pm at Coussoulis Arena.
