Sharon Woodard: FOUNDER, Director of operations,

chaos coordinator

Sharon lives in Northern Arizona with her husband Greg. She was a band director and Student Support Service Director in Page, AZ for over 35 years. She started the indoor percussion journey in 2000 as the Director of Page HS who won the 2005 PSA Gold Medal at the WGI World Championships. In 2008, she co-founded Dark Sky with her sons and band director, Chris Elias in Flagstaff, AZ. Sharon is especially proud of the influence that Dark Sky has on present and future instructors and educators. “This is a passion project, both personally and with my family.”

Seth Woodard

SETH WOODARD: founder, CREATIVE DIRECTOR

In a fusion of passions, Seth created Dark Sky Percussion with his friends and family - Seth is our front ensemble composer and the driving creative force for Dark Sky’s musical identity.

Emily Figueroa

EMILY FIGUEROA: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Emily comes to Dark Sky with an Associates Degree in Psychology. She was a paralegal at a San Bernardino law firm where she drafted immigration applications among other duties. Emily also has years of experience working along side her family in their Tulare restaurant called Figaro’s Mexican Southwestern Grill.

Emily is a significant addition to our Admin Team working closely with members, staff and coordinating the Dark Sky merchandise booth. 2024 will be Emily’s 2nd season with Dark Sky.

Adrian Lopez

ADRIAN LOPEZ: ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT / FE TECHNICIAN

Adrian has been involved with the marching arts since 2004 in both brass and percussion, and has performed with various ensembles such as Velvet Knights, Full Force Percussion, Pulse Percussion Open (currently POW Percussion), and Dark Sky Percussion.

Adrian is currently the percussion caption at Bonita High School in La Verne CA. Outside of music he enjoys spending time with his 3 dogs and his partner adventuring to new restaurants and live concerts.

2024 will be Adrian’s 2nd season on the Dark Sky Admin Team.

Anthony Cortez

ANTHONY CORTEZ: ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT

Anthony Cortez is an educator, performer, and Dark Sky vet from Mesa, AZ. He marched snare at Dark Sky in 2018 and 2019 and the Oregon Crusaders in 2017 and 2018. He is an Arizona State University graduate, and when he’s now working in a coffee shop, he enjoys making music/performing under his self named pop-punk project.

Anthony looks forward to contributing to the Dark Sky member experience by sharing the performer perspective with the admin team.

Tyler Pham

TYLER PHAM: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Tyler Pham is a music educator, composer, show designer, and veteran member of Dark Sky Percussion. He performed in the front ensemble on synthesizer in 2014 and 2015. Other independent marching ensembles include City Sound Drum and Bugle Corps (2013-14) and Gold Drum and Bugle Corps (2014, 2017, 2018,) where he aged out as their head drum major.

Tyler Pham has been continuing to contribute to marching arts education as a visual technician and percussion instructor for groups throughout the Southern California Area. Tyler Pham is currently pursuing a full-time career as a composer/sound designer for film and video games.
