KEVIN TIECK: VISUAL CAPTION HEAD

Kevin is a highly motivated and versatile marching band professional with expertise in performance, teaching, drill design, and choreography. Their multifaceted skill set has made them an asset to the marching band community. Kevin's marching experience encompasses two prestigious ensembles, including the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps and Riverside City College (RCC). As a member of the Blue Devils from 2016 to 2020, Kevin showcased their skill and dedication as a horn player, serving as the Horn Sergeant from 2018 to 2020.

Having earned a Performance Degree from California State University Long Beach, Kevin possesses a solid musical foundation that has propelled their success in the field. Furthermore, Kevin has made significant contributions to the marching arts through their expertise in drill design, collaborating with programs such as Aliso Niguel High School, California High School (Whittier, CA), Whittier High School, Clayton HS (North Carolina), and San Jacinto HS. In addition to drill design, Kevin is a skilled choreographer, further enhancing their ability to craft captivating and cohesive performances.

Complementing their creative endeavors, Kevin has a passion for teaching and mentorship. They have worked with renowned ensembles including the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps, The Academy, Madison Scouts, POW Indoor Percussion, Vessel Indoor Percussion, and serves as the Visual Caption Head at Upland High School.

Kevin is excited to collaborate with Dark Sky this year, where they will continue to push the boundaries of artistic expression and innovation on the floor.



MICHAEL ADRIAS: VISUAL INSTRUCTOR

Michael Adrias is a visual instructor based in the Southern California area who has been involved in the marching arts since 2014. Graduating from California State University, Fullerton in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema and Television, Michael has maintained his involvement with the activity through the various groups he teaches including Chino High School, Upland High School, Ayala High School, and Blue Devils B Drum and Bugle Corps.

Michael’s marching experience includes independent groups such as Blue Devils B (2017-2018), Sacramento Mandarins (2019), Vessel Indoor Percussion (2020), Santa Clara Vanguard (2020-2021), The Blue Devils (2022), and RCC Indoor Percussion (2023)

This is Michael’s first year on the Dark Sky staff.




LIZZ ALONZO: CHOREOGRAPHER / VISUAL INSTRUCTOR

Lizz Alonzo is a competitive dancer, musician, and educator from Azusa, California. She began dancing at twelve years old and started competing at the age of thirteen with her local middle school then continued in high school. Besides training with the school’s teams, she also trained in The Lab, Snowglobe, Afeenix, and Millennium studios. Lizz’s dance journey includes teaching a competitive dance team at Slauson Middle School, a competitive all-male hip hop team at Gladstone High School, and being the head choreographer for the Citrus College Cheer Team. 

After playing the trumpet for many years she began her marching career in 2016 with Gold Drum Corps and aged out in 2018 with her local corps Pacific Crest. Although originally a brass player, Lizz made the leap into WGI sc joining the Pulse Percussion Visual Ensemble in 2017 and 2018. She then joined the RCC visual ensemble and a leadership role in 2019 and 2020. Lizz also worked with Gold Drum Corps with a choreography project and was the head instructor/choreographer for the visual ensemble at Ramona High School.

This is Lizz’s 3rd season on staff with Dark Sky .
